With the election soon approaching, I tend to think about the many different ways you can vote as someone with Cerebral palsy, so I have decided to give you some tips on voting when you have Cerebral palsy.
- Take your time when considering candidates to cast a vote for – I know from experience voting could be very overwhelming but it’s important that you take your time and study each candidate before you make your decision.
- Do your research on accessible voting places- when it comes to voting with Cerebral Palsy, you should research what places have accessible accommodations for you and your needs as a voter.
- have an open discussion about your voting accommodations – when it comes to voting having an open discussion with your caregivers or your loved ones about your voting accommodations that way you can make a plan on what you may need the day of voting easier for you to get the process.
- Be sure to have all documented papers you may need at polling – when it comes to voting you must bring all necessary documents you may need to go out and vote.
- Take your time when going through the ballet – when voting take your time and read through the ballet and have an understanding so you’re not overwhelmed with the process of it all.
- Do your research on accessible voting places- when it comes to voting with Cerebral Palsy, you should research what places have accessible accommodations for you and your needs as a voter.
