6 Tips on voting when you have Cerebral palsy

With the election soon approaching, I tend to think about the many different ways you can vote as someone with Cerebral palsy, so I have decided to give you some tips on voting when you have Cerebral palsy.

  1. Take your time when considering candidates to cast a vote for – I know from experience voting could be very overwhelming but it’s important that you take your time and study each candidate before you make your decision.
  2. Do your research on accessible voting places- when it comes to voting with Cerebral Palsy, you should research what places have accessible accommodations for you and your needs as a voter.
  3. have an open discussion about your voting accommodations – when it comes to voting having an open discussion with your caregivers or your loved ones about your voting accommodations that way you can make a plan on what you may need the day of voting easier for you to get the process.
  4. Be sure to have all documented papers you may need at polling – when it comes to voting you must bring all necessary documents you may need to go out and vote.
  5. Take your time when going through the ballet – when voting take your time and read through the ballet and have an understanding so you’re not overwhelmed with the process of it all.
  6. Do your research on accessible voting places- when it comes to voting with Cerebral Palsy, you should research what places have accessible accommodations for you and your needs as a voter.
