Last night I was on Facebook, and I began strolling through my newsfeed when I came across a post that one of my Facebook friend who was of the screenshot of an anonymous Twitter user that said the following statement:
Disabled parking should only be valid during the business hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 P.M Monday through Friday because this person thinks that disabled people don’t go out between those hours
My response to the anonymous Twitter user I could curse you out and tell you how F****ing ignorant you are, but I’m not going to do that I’m going to educate you
First off there’re plenty of things that I see wrong with your statement I’m a disabled woman myself, and I’m currently in college studying creative writing for the entertainment, and there have been plenty of times where I like to go to Rivals nightclub and mingle passed your valid hours
Besides going to rivals, I enjoy going to the winery on Friday nights and listen to the local bands while drinking a glass of southern blend white wine and just relaxing.
So just to educate you on something people with disabilities do have lives and we’re very active in our communities as much as we could be Anonymous Twitter user.
Since after all we are human and we are a part of society, and people with disabilities have always been a part of culture whether people like it or not we are a part of the world.
But I have to say meeting people like you encourage me to advocate for others with disabilities because we need to educate the people like you that are naïve too what it’s like to live with a disability.
