I have always enjoyed watching movies. For as long as I can remember, I have loved inspirational films. These movies push me to be a better human being and send a powerful message to viewers.
I’ve watched so many inspirational movies over the years that it’s hard to put a Top 5 list together. However, these 5 films have truly inspired me more than the rest. So, grab a popcorn and a soda… let’s explore these 5 must-see inspirational movies.
- Ladder 49 (2004)
This drama features John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix. The film tells the story of two firefighters who make the ultimate sacrifice while doing what they love. This phenomenal film will inspire you to push through those bad days at work to continue doing what you love. Just like the firefighters who live for saving innocent people from burning buildings, we all have our own passions.
- Seabiscuit (2003)
Seabiscuit tells the story of the famous namesake horse and the jockey that everyone doubted could ever win the Kentucky Derby. This horse faced many obstacles throughout his life, but somehow he always persevered. If you feel like life is too hard, put this DVD in and watch. You may feel like your own finish line is too far away, but Seabiscuit will show you the power of perseverance in the face of challenges.
- David and Monica (2009)
This 2009 documentary covers the journey of a couple with down syndrome. Though they each face many obstacles, their love shines through. Love knows no boundaries, and this film reminds us that we can all find the love of our life despite our own limitations and unique characteristics.
- Margarita With a Straw (2015)
Margarita With a Straw follows a rebellious woman with cerebral palsy who makes incredible self discoveries while studying creative writing in New York. This movie will inspire you to find yourself, no matter how long it takes.
- Simson Birch (1998)
Although he struggles with dwarfism, Simson still lives his life to the fullest. Don’t let size deceive you; people can carry big hearts and fearless bravery no matter their size or physical attributes.
Each of these movies contains an inspirational message that can apply to anyone.
