I have been advocating for cerebral palsy since I was 18 years old and throughout the years that I have been advocating I’ve learned several lessons that I will carry for the rest of my life
1. Your voice is the most powerful tool you have; throughout my years of advocating for disability rights,3 Lessons Advocating Taught Me
I’ve learned that your voice is the most powerful tool when you’re going through this journey of fighting for what you believe in because you need people to hear your message.
2. Obstacles aren’t a bad thing; If it is one thing I learned through advocating for Cerebral Palsy is that obstacles aren’t a bad thing they are life lessons in disguise.
3. Your journey may be hard but it’s very much appreciated; There are a lot of times where my journeys can be long but it’s worth it once you see the people that you’ve been able to impact so you can’t give up at all cause someone in your shoes needs your story.
Those are the three main things that I’ve learned throughout my journey with advocacy and it’s been one heck of a journey for the past seven years and I wouldn’t change it for the world as I remember despite the obstacles that we all might face we all have to “keep on stomping”
