Over the years, I have gone through many challenges and obstacles and sometimes it could be difficult to motivate yourself as you on the journey of many twists and turns.
Which could be hard for people like us with Cerebral palsy to do at times because of our situation and our mindsets so I have learned that being my self -motivation is the best thing I could be for when times seem to be difficult.
- You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think – Christopher Robin”. I tell myself this when Cerebral palsy decides to have a party with muscle spasms and stiffness since it’s just one obstacle that I can overcome and will.
- “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” “It’s a good thing I was born a girl, otherwise I’d be a drag queen.”-Dolly Parton what can I say about this quote throughout my journey with Cerebral Palsy, I had to lean on this quote couple of times in my life and remind myself that it’s okay to fall as long as I get back up again.
- Last but not least, “Let your unique awesomeness and positive energy inspire confidence in others.” – this quote each day reminds me that I will just be myself and use it to help others overcome their challenges and obstacles. Ultimately programming my mind to remind me of these prep talks every day give me the push I need to be a better advocate and a better person as someone with Cerebral Palsy.
