When God Rewrites Your Game Plan
Life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs, and sometimes, those curveballs come in the form of divine rewrites to our carefully laid plans. Over the past few months, I’ve found myself reflecting deeply on this truth, especially since my surgery in February. This surgery wasn’t part of my game plan—it wasn’t something I had anticipated or prepared for. But as I’ve learned time and time again, especially through my journey with cerebral palsy, when God changes your game plan, you keep playing the game. You push forward, adapting and persevering until you reach the goal—whether it’s a touchdown, a basket, or simply the next step in your journey.
Embracing the Unexpected
This season of reflection has reminded me that life’s detours often lead to the most profound growth. When my surgery became necessary, I could have easily viewed it as a setback. Instead, I chose to see it as an opportunity to lean into my faith and trust that God’s plan is always greater than my own. After all, if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my nearly 30 years of life, it’s that God’s game plan is always better than anything I could dream up on my own.
Through the challenges of recovery, I’ve been reminded of the importance of resilience and adaptability. These qualities aren’t just valuable on the basketball court or in the game of football—they’re essential in the game of life. Every twist and turn, every unexpected play, is an opportunity to grow stronger, to learn more about ourselves, and to draw closer to the One who guides our steps.
A Season of Ordination and Growth
In the midst of this season of change, I’ve also experienced incredible milestones in my ministry. I am thrilled to share that I was recently ordained as a Senior Minister and Youth Minister. These ordinations represent not only the culmination of years of study and preparation but also the beginning of a new chapter in my journey of service to God and others.
In addition to these roles, I have received specializations in areas that are deeply aligned with my passions and calling:
Worldview
House Church Planting
Evangelism
Church Revitalization
Church Planting
All Abilities Ministry
Navigating Conflict
Marriage and Family Ministry
Bible Study Leadership
Men’s and Women’s Ministry
Senior Adult Ministry
Pastoral Care
Each of these specializations represents a unique facet of ministry that I am eager to explore and develop further. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to create inclusive spaces for individuals of all abilities to connect with their faith and share the gospel in their own unique ways.
A New Chapter in Literature
As if these milestones weren’t enough, I am also overjoyed to announce the release of my new children’s book, Tiny Little Treasures. This book, which explores biblical figures with disabilities, is a project close to my heart. It is a celebration of the diversity and strength found in every individual, and it is my hope that it will inspire readers of all ages to see the beauty and potential in every life.
Tiny Little Treasures is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Google Books, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world. Writing this book has been a labor of love, and it is a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and the belief that every story—no matter how small—deserves to be told.
The Journey Ahead
As I look ahead to the rest of this journey, I am filled with hope and anticipation for what’s to come. I know that there will be more challenges, more unexpected changes to the game plan, but I also know that I am equipped to handle whatever comes my way. God has been faithful every step of the way, and I trust that He will continue to guide me as I strive to make a difference in the lives of others.
Through it all, I am committed to sharing the lessons I’ve learned with others. Whether through my writing, my ministry, or simply through the way I live my life, I want to inspire others to embrace their own journeys, no matter how difficult or unexpected they may be. Because in the end, it’s not about the game plan—it’s about how we play the game.
A Message of Hope and Resilience
If there’s one message I want to leave you with, it’s this: no matter what challenges you face, no matter how many times your game plan gets rewritten, remember that God is always in control. He knows the plans He has for you, and those plans are good. Our job is to trust Him, to keep moving forward, and to make the most of every opportunity we’re given.
So, as I continue on this journey, I am excited to see what God has in store for me. I am excited to build a ministry that reaches people in meaningful ways, to share the message of God’s love and grace, and to help others discover their own unique purpose in His plan.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Together, let’s embrace the changes, celebrate the victories, and trust in the One who makes all things possible.
Here’s to the road ahead—may it be filled with faith, hope, and countless blessings.
