In life, we often face struggles and challenges that can test our resilience and determination. However, it is during these difficult times that we can discover the beauty of our journey and learn to appreciate the lessons it brings. In this blog post, I will share my personal experience with cerebral palsy and how it has led me to embrace the struggles and ultimately fall in love with my book of life.
** cerebral palsy has taught me to fall in love with my book of life and the people I’ve gotten to meet even through the toughest time in my lives**
Living with cerebral palsy has presented its fair share of challenges. From physical limitations to societal stigmas, I have learned to navigate through life’s difficulties with a strong spirit and unwavering determination. Through my journey, I have encountered numerous setbacks and obstacles, but they have only served as stepping stones towards personal growth and self-discovery.
One time in 2018, when I was struggling to remember my reasons why I started the journey, I struggled to find the beauty within everyday for my journey since I hit a rough patch in my life
In 2018, I hit a rough patch in my life that threatened to derail my progress. After months of rejections from various contribution companies related to my literature, I began to question my purpose and direction as a writer. It was during this time of uncertainty that I struggled to find the beauty within the everyday moments of my journey.
I struggled to find the beauty within everyday for my journey since I hit a rough patch in my life, after being rejected by several contribution companies that I found related to my literature and also struggling to really decide who I wanted to be as a author
The constant rejections and uncertainty weighed heavily on me, and I found myself questioning my abilities as an author. I despised the way my story was being written and the obstacles I was facing. It was during these difficult times that I almost gave up on the idea of being an author completely.
But cerebral palsy activist and poet Cody Abram McWhorter was the reminder that even through our rough path, we can find beauty and purpose
Just when I was ready to throw in the towel, I encountered a remarkable individual named Cody Abram McWhorter. Cody is a cerebral palsy activist and poet who inspired me with his unwavering determination and passion for his craft. His words resonated with my own struggles, and they became a reminder that even through our rough paths, we can find beauty and purpose.
I was inspired by Cody’s message to appreciate the journey and embrace the struggles as opportunities for growth, which inspired my new YA romance Finding the Beauty in the Unseen available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Google Books.
I started writing it after we connected years ago after he read one of my articles about cerebral palsy and sexuality. The poem he shared with me was entitled “If I had a girlfriend” which was published in a number of cerebral palsy Facebook groups . Although you may not realize it, I was inspired to write a romance novel based on him before we became a couple. Just to clarify, it wasn’t planned when I started revisiting Lynette and Jason’s characters; that was part of the plan after I finished working on Emelia’s way
I was inspired by his courage and strength, and I wanted to bring that to life. I wanted to create a story that would show readers the importance of acceptance and love. I also wanted to show that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
Cody’s message taught me to appreciate the journey and to embrace the struggles as opportunities for growth. He reminded me that every setback is merely a stepping stone towards achieving our goals. His words of encouragement gave me the strength to continue on my path, and I began to search for the beauty and meaning in the challenges that I faced. This shift in perspective allowed me to view my struggles from a more hopeful and positive point of view. It helped me to gain the courage to take risks and face my fears. I began to believe that anything is possible if I just kept pushing forward.
I now have a new appreciation for the beauty and uniqueness of my journey
Through my journey with cerebral palsy, I have learned to embrace the struggles as stepping stones towards personal growth. I have also developed a new appreciation for the beauty and uniqueness of my journey. My cerebral palsy has not only shaped who I am today but has also provided me with a unique perspective on the world and the people who surround me.
The struggles have taught me to fall in love with my book of life, allowing me to connect with people from all walks of life
The struggles I have faced have not deterred me from pursuing my dreams. Instead, they have enabled me to connect with people from all walks of life. Through my writing, I have been able to share their stories and experiences with others who may be struggling with similar challenges. This connection, born out of our shared struggles, has not only strengthened my writing but has also allowed me to fall in love with my book of life.
Our journeys are filled with ups and downs, and it is during our darkest moments that we discover our beauty. By embracing the struggles and searching for beauty within everyday moments, we can find purpose and meaning in our lives. Cerebral palsy has taught me invaluable lessons. It has led me to fall in love with my life journey and the wonderful people I have met along the way. So, let us all embrace our struggles as opportunities for growth and remember that even on our rough paths, there is always a way to find beauty within. The journey of cerebral palsy is similar to a tapestry, as the individual threads of struggle and beauty come together to create a beautiful, vibrant, and captivating picture. We must each take our own time and our own path, but when we come together, we can create something even more beautiful.
