About a few months ago, I got the opportunity to have my segment on the radio where I discussed my journey with Cerebral Palsy and how I’ve overcome many obstacles living in a society as a person with a disability.
I took the opportunity right away and went straight into the studio and began recording.
When I’m in the studio recording I seem to forget about the lack of mobility within my body due to my Cerebral Palsy and the world around me.
When I’m behind the mic I feel empowered to make a difference in the world and share my story with the world and my experiences as I tell my story through the music that I play and the quotes that I share that yes I have Cerebral Palsy and I’m not ashamed to say that being a radio personality has allowed me to say this is my story and this is my message to the world and I’m ready to make the impact I’ve always wanted to make, it has allowed me to connect with others who are just like me and who have the same struggles as I do has given me the strength to get through the days where I have a hard time getting out of bed because of the lack of my mobility within my left side of my body.
Being a radio personality gives me a voice to share my story and be confident in the message that I want to share with the world about my journey with Cerebral Palsy and the world around me
It has also given me the chance to feel empowered to inspire others to tell their stories to the best of their abilities and also leave a positive message with society and the world around me.
Being a radio personality has allowed me to be who I’m without the worry of people judging me based on my wheelchair and my outside appearance.
Which has made me more inspired to share my story with the world and ways I ever thought I would
Getting to be inside the studio has given me an outlet for when I feel like my condition is just way too much and I need to getaway. I know I could just turn on my mic and record my thoughts and let my mind go free and forget about all my worries with my condition and the world around me .
I’m truly thankful for radio and what it’s done for me and my mindset since it has given me a more positive outlet on things as I remember that I’m making an impact and I have to move forward cause the world needs me and my story.
